Inverkeithing’s Hillfield Swifts are first Beneficaries of D&G Autocares Facebook Sponsorship Promotion

PRESS RELEASE PRESS RELEASE INVERKEITHING’S HILLFIELD SWIFTS ARE FIRST BENEFICARIES OF D&G AUTOCARE’S FACEBOOK SPONSORSHIP PROMOTION D&G Autocare has ended its special 10th Anniversary year with a £500 sponsorship competition on Facebook, won by Junior football team, the Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts. Nominated through the Facebook promotion by Rebecca Radin, whose son Kieran is a player for the Swifts, the team has won £500 to spend on strips or other equipment for the club, courtesy of D&G. Rebecca also won a D&G Autocare Free Car Service gift voucher for taking the time to enter the competition, which involved nominating a club, association or group of your choice to be the beneficiary of this latest sponsorship. All entries were put into a hat and a winner drawn at random. “We are delighted to award the Hillfield Swifts this sponsorship,” said Chris Dodds, who is the new Manager of D&G Autocare at Belleknowes Industrial Estate in Inverkeithing. “This is the first time we have tried a competition like this on Facebook and we had a huge response with 4448 entrants in all.” “People could nominate the same club or group as many times as they wanted to give that group a better chance of being drawn out of the hat. We are going to do another sponsorship opportunity like this in 2015 and have posted on Facebook asking everyone to keep an eye out for it. We think it will be very popular once again,” said Chris, (32) from Dunfermline, who was previously at D&G’s Fast Fit garage at Pitreavie. Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts F.C were formed by their Chairman Eddie Spence in the summer of 1996 with over 100 boys and Girls attending the first ever training session at Hillfield playing fields in Inverkeithing. Eddie’s vision was to provide all the local boys and girls the opportunity to play football in a fun and safe environment. Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts were born and started to grow rapidly. Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts FC were then officially founded in early 2000 and since inception the club has grown from strength to strength. Said Rebecca Radin: “We are thrilled, this money will come in very handy indeed in 2015 and I am so glad I took the time to nominate the Club. D&G is well known now in the area and I have liked the Facebook page for a while –it’s good for highlighting special offers too.” Added Chris Dodds: “This presentation today is a great way to end what has been a very special year for D&G. We have celebrated ten years in business and the challenge for 2015 is to keep the impetus going with great pricing and fantastic customer service. I am a people person and very much aware of customer care and service – I like to look after my customers. From a personal point of view, it’s great to end the year in a new managerial position. We are currently contacting all past and present customers of D&G here at Belleknowes with a letter introducing myself and offering them some special deals and prices for the next time they bring their vehicles in for servicing. We want to attract new customers too in 2015.” D&G is also continuing with “drive time” sponsorship on many radio stations across the central belt. The firm has taken on another apprentice in its Kirkcaldy garage and is continuing to support as many young people and communities as it can through apprenticeships, club sponsorships and other work opportunities. www.dandgautocare.co.uk.
